CANON Printer - Cleaning the Print Heads from Your Computer

CANON Printer - Cleaning the Print Heads from Your Computer

The print head cleaning function allows you to clear up clogged print head nozzle. Perform print head cleaning if printing is faint or a specific color fails to print, even though there is enough ink.

The procedure for cleaning the print head is as follows:

  1. Open the printer driver setup window

  2. Click Cleaning on the Maintenance tab

When the Print Head Cleaning dialog box opens, select the ink group for which cleaning is to be performed.
Click Initial Check Items to display the items you need to check before performing cleaning.

  3. Execute cleaning

Make sure that the machine is on and then click Execute.

    Print head cleaning starts.

  4. Complete cleaning

The Nozzle Check dialog box opens after the confirmation message.

  5. Check the results

To check whether the print quality has improved, click Print Check Pattern. To cancel the check process, click Cancel.

If cleaning the head once does not resolve the print head problem, clean it once more.

Deep Cleaning

Deep Cleaning is more thorough than cleaning. Perform deep cleaning when two Cleaning attempts do not resolve the print head problem.

  1. Open the printer driver setup window

  2. Click Deep Cleaning on the Maintenance tab

When the Deep Cleaning dialog box opens, select the ink group for which deep cleaning is to be performed.
Click Initial Check Items to display the items you need to check before performing deep cleaning.

  3. Execute deep cleaning

Make sure that the machine is on and then click Execute.
Click OK when the confirmation message appears.

    Print head deep cleaning starts.

  4. Complete deep cleaning

The Nozzle Check dialog box opens after the confirmation message.

  5. Check the results

To check whether the print quality has improved, click Print Check Pattern. To cancel the check process, click Cancel.

Important
  • Cleaning consumes a small amount of ink.
Cleaning the print head frequently will rapidly deplete your printer's ink supply. Consequently, perform cleaning only when necessary.

  • Deep Cleaning consumes a larger amount of ink than Cleaning.
Cleaning the print head frequently will rapidly deplete your printer's ink supply. Consequently, perform cleaning only       when necessary.

Q & A
1)     What is remanufactured laser toner and ink cartridge?
A remanufactured cartridge (also referred to as refurbished or reman cartridges) is made of used parts from empty original printer cartridges. During the remanufacturing process the cartridge will be refilled with inkjet ink or laser toner after being examined, cleaned and individually tested by the remanufacturer.

2)     Can a remanufactured toner cartridge damage my printer?
A toner cartridge that been properly remanufactured should not cause damage of any kind to your printer. It is important to find a qualify remanufactured company that produce QUALITY (grade A) remanufactured toner cartridge.

3)  Will using a remanufactured toner cartridge void my printer warranty?
Absolutely not. The Magmuson-Moss Warranty Act-1975 states that, in the USA at least, the warranty cannot be voided because of the use of aftermarket products. This is commonly known as the Act’s “Anti-tying” provision because it prevents a manufactured from “tying” its warranty to the use of specific products.
Section 2302(c ) of the Magnuson-Moss Act reads:
“No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer’s using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of warranty) which is identified by brand, trade, or corporate name.”
“While the use of an aftermarket product does not void the printer warranty (that is, nullify the entire warranty), the warranty does not have to cover damage that is shown to be due to a non-OEM consumable. Even if this should happen, the rest of the warranty would still be in effect for any other problems the consumer has

4)  Will I get the same number of printer yield pages from a remanufactured toner cartridge as a new toner/cartridge?
Yes. Simply because we put the same or more grams of toner in our grade A remanufactured toner cartridge.

5)     I’ve heard that recycled toner cartridge suffer from quality problems. Why should I take the risk? I’ve tried recycled toner cartridge before and they didn’t work!
While it may be the case with some remanufacturer have not experiences in the industry, if you are dealing with established reputable company, this is certainly not the case. In the rare percentage that we do have a problem and we make every effort to respond promptly to correct the problem and minimize the inconvenience cause to our customer. Our products have individual QC test before packaging. This will reduce most of the problem .
